 SheVaCon
stands for Shenandoah Valley
Convention Even though we now reside in Roanoke due
to the space we need. SheVaCon started in Staunton Virginia which is located in
the Shenandoah Valley.
Rumor has it that we are a Feminist convention.
Not true! The "She" part is only the first three letters in Shenandoah. Yes we
do sport a Female warrior. The board of directors voted for the female warrior
logo. has been depicted by each Artist Guest of Honor. We ask each artist to draw
her as they see her. The only stipulation we have is that she stays a female warrior.
SheVaCon is a Science Fiction & Fantasy, Horror, Costuming and Gaming Convention.
The Horror part is the looks on the board of directors faces when they realize
that February is just around the corner. SheVaCon is a Not For Profit organization
so all the work you see by the time you arrive at the convention has been done
by the volunteering efforts of the Board of Directors and everyone they have been
able to talk in to donating their time, money or supplies. WHY
IS SHEVACON HERE? For most, SheVaCon is here as a small inexpensive vacation
from the real world for 3 fun filled days. Getting together with friends and family
to enjoy the genre they love. For others SheVaCon is a educational outlet for
the aspiring Artists or Writers. Here we give the Artists and Writers a chance
to talk to each other offering workshops and panels on "How to Get Published"
or "Tools the Professionals Use". Amateurs can take advantage of a chance to talk
to the Pro's, get their feed back and learn some new tricks of the trade. SheVaCon
now has 2 Scholarships 1 in art and 1 in writing that are awarded each year to
qualified applicants. All
