A Big Thank You To...

We would like give a big thank you to the Holiday Inn - Tanglewood for hosting SheVaCon for so many wonderful years. We have a lot of great memories, and will always remember our time there fondly. Although, due to the growth in our attendance, a larger venue was required for continued growth. We sincerely thank you all for your continued support of SheVaCon - and we look forward to seeing you all soon!

About Roanoke

Roanoke, VA - Star City of the South

Nestled in a valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Roanoke is the largest little city in Southwestern Virginia. Chartered in 1884, Roanoke was once known as 'Big Lick', a name given by the Native Americans for the large salt marshes which drew the wildlife to the area.

Roanoke is also known as the 'Star City of the South', for which there is a large neon star perched atop of Mill Mountain overlooking Downtown, and most of the Roanoke Valley. The Star was erected in 1948, and still stands glowing as bright as it did the day it was switched on. The overlook from Mill Mountain is still a favorite tourist spot among locals.

Roanoke also has one of the oldest, and still functioning Farmer's Markets in the US. Located in the center of Downtown at the intersection of Campbell Ave. and Market St. The Farmer's Market is a great place to visit, and always has fresh, beautiful produce, flowers, and other wonderful and unique items.
